Akira Kanou's Outsiders arrives at Ki-oon Shojo with a cover that immediately signals something fierce and fantastical — a red-haired young woman in armored clothing grips a crossbow amid a storm of shattered clock faces, golden fragments, and vivid bursts of crimson and magenta. The whole composition feels like time itself is splintering around her, her windswept hair and determined gaze anchoring the chaos with striking resolve. If this first volume's cover is any measure, Kanou has crafted a shojo series with serious visual ambition and plenty of edge.
