This anthology issue contains two stories. "Henry Plummer and the Road Agents" follows the outlaw Henry Plummer in California, where he warns fellow criminal Ben Thompson away from a dance hall and gambling operation, and plans to ambush him when he arrives. "The Indians Decided to Massacre" recounts a historical incident from October 8, 1863, in Pennsylvania, where friendly Indians who had purchased goods at a tavern were robbed overnight; the victims later sought revenge with other Delaware Indians, prompting violent retaliation from soldiers under Jonathan Dodge's command.
