Volume 3 of Shonen's Outlaw Players (Ki-oon) arrives with a cover that grabs you immediately — a red-haired, blue-eyed gunslinger rendered upside-down, dual revolvers in hand, spent brass casings tumbling freely around her as she plunges through a shattered blue void. The kinetic composition, all sharp diagonals and fragmented geometry, perfectly captures the series' high-octane, game-world aesthetic. If this 2016 French-language release is any indication, the tension in this series shows no sign of slowing down.
