# "The 3rd Planet" An Earth space crew led by Captain Hale encounters hostile alien inhabitants on a mysterious planet. When one crew member is duplicated by the aliens, the captain learns the aliens plan to destroy the humans, deeming them a threat. After the duplicated crew member is dematerialized, Admiral Sanders arrives to broker peace. Sanders uses diplomacy and demonstrates humanity's capacity for peaceful coexistence, ultimately convincing the alien leader to spare the crew and establish accord between their worlds, with the aliens choosing to hide their civilization behind natural camouflage to prevent future conflict.
