Outcast #26 — "The Sharpened Edge" — presents a cover image that's quietly unsettling in the best way: a lone figure bathed in deep reds and oranges sits with eyes closed, almost meditative, while a vast dark swirl churns ominously behind him. The contrast between that eerie calm and the churning void overhead gives the whole thing a real sense of dread building beneath the surface. Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta's Skybound horror series was consistently delivering this kind of moody, atmospheric work in 2017, and this cover is a fine example of why the book stood apart.
