Out There #5
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFrom WildStorm's Cliffhanger! imprint comes Out There #5, where writer Brian Augustyn and artist Humberto Ramos deliver a tense, street-level tableau: four teenagers huddle together in obvious fear — a blonde girl, a young woman in a red bandana, a smaller kid with glasses, and a red-haired boy — while a smoking handgun lies ominously on the floor in front of them. The cover, inked by Sandra Hope, captures that suffocating moment of dread beautifully, with Ramos's expressive, kinetic style giving each character a distinct sense of panic and vulnerability. "Stain of Evil" promises exactly the kind of grounded supernatural tension that made the Cliffhanger! line so compelling in 2001.

Once the demon leaves him, Bill Mullins rescues his son. Mark and Abel arrive in a rush to do the same. Reverend Becky warns that the four must stick together, and that only they have power to stop the coming invasion. Sheriff Greenwood attacks the teens on orders of Draedalus and shoots Mark, but Casey manifests a healing power, just as Mark has demonstrated preternatural knowledge and Jessica prescient dreams. Nick Bridges reveals to the sheriff that he actually is a competing demonic figure.
