Monica meets Steve at a dance and he is smitten. He writes to her later, but Monica isn’t interested. Instead, Monica’s best friend Janie decides to correspond with Steve as “Monica.” They have a torrid romance-by-mail. However, she later meets John and they fall in love. Janie tries to find Steve to explain, and discovers Steve is “John.” He knew it wasn’t Monica who wrote the letters. Janie and Steve marry and have 2 children.
