The six-issue BOOM! Studios miniseries Origins reaches its conclusion here, and Jakub Rebelka's cover art makes a quietly arresting final statement — a lone, elderly man in robes cradling something small and pink stands at the center of a vast crowd of robed robotic figures, a smaller blade-armed machine at his side, all rendered in haunting teal and frost-blue tones. There's something both solemn and mythic about the image: one fragile human figure surrounded by an assembly of mechanical beings, suggesting questions about humanity, creation, and what we leave behind. With Chapman's writing, Rebelka's art, and Delpeche's ethereal color work, this 2021 finale looks like a fittingly contemplative close to a series that was never afraid to think big.
