The second chapter of this six-issue BOOM! Studios series arrives with a cover that immediately earns attention: a luminous figure in pink and a cloaked companion holding a staff pick their way through a jagged, crystalline wasteland while a horde of pale, red-eyed creatures swarms the shadows below them, a ruined skyline burning orange in the distance. Jakub Rebelka's artwork — colored here by Patricio Delpeche — layers dread and wonder in equal measure, the cool blues of the creature-filled foreground clashing beautifully against that apocalyptic amber sky. Clay McLeod Chapman's post-apocalyptic vision is shaping up to be one of the more visually arresting science-fiction series of 2020.
