Opowieść rybaka #2

The second volume of this Polish adventure series, Opowieść rybaka #2: Demon z lodówki, published by Timof i cisi wspólnicy in 2009, presents a cover by Irek Konior that immediately commands attention. Above the waterline, a small fisherman sits perched on a rocky outcrop, dwarfed by a hulking, winged demon looming behind him — while below the surface, an enormous prehistoric-looking fish fills the frame with its gaping, tooth-lined jaws. Writer Jacek Brzeziński and artist Irek Konior clearly have a taste for placing their humble fisherman protagonist against threats of truly absurd scale.
