Operation: Peril #9

"Sting of Death" follows Pete Lindsay, a pearl fisher in the Strait of Macassar, who discovers a rich pearl bed but is threatened by harbor pirates Java Jack and Scud Voerkell, who steal his haul and force him to guide them to the new location under gunpoint. Pete spots a jellyfish at the pearl bed site and uses knowledge of the Portuguese man-of-war's deadly sting to eliminate the two gunmen, allowing him to escape. In a separate story, Dr. Redfield hunts a mammoth in a jungle region while his guide Typhoon and a woman named Pamela become separated from the group; they must trek through dangerous wilderness inhabited by a tiger skull cult, facing multiple perils before attempting to reunite with their supplies.
