Kamagurka's dry wit is on full display with this 2006 collection, whose cover says it all: a masked surgeon leans over a patient on the operating table beneath twin surgical lamps, asking for a scalpel — while the title cheerfully announces "Operation Successful, Patient Deceased." It's a perfectly deadpan one-panel joke that sets the tone for the absurdist humor fans of Kamagurka have come to love. A great entry point into the Belgian cartoonist's delightfully bleak comic sensibility.
