Opa #6

The sixth volume of Eddy Ryssack's beloved Belgian humor series finds Opa in fine comic form, with the title "Eb en Vloed" (Ebb and Tide) setting the stage for some seaside silliness. The cover captures it perfectly: a bewildered Opa stands ankle-deep at the shoreline — flower in his hat, hook in hand — while a group of onlookers on the beach watches with bemused expressions, and one hapless soul bobs in the water clutching what appears to be a bottle. It's warm, wonderfully absurd, and a great reminder why this series has such a cheerful charm.
