One World Under Doom #9

History

The series was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024 and spins out of the Blood Hunt event, in which Doctor Doom maneuvered Doctor Strange into surrendering the Sorcerer Supreme mantle. The core title was originally solicited as a five-issue miniseries under the title The Rise of Emperor Doom before being both expanded to nine issues and renamed — Marvel gave no public explanation for either change. The series was also pushed from its original November 2024 launch to February 2025. Writer Ryan North, who was simultaneously scripting the main Fantastic Four title, and artist R.B. Silva — known for defining X-Men work on Powers of X and Rise of the Powers of X — formed the creative backbone, with colorist David Curiel and letterer VC's Travis Lanham rounding out the team; the finale added penciller Bernard Chang for the Scarlet Witch end-credit sequence that ties directly into his subsequent Sorcerer Supreme ongoing series.
