A Jupiterian alien on the spacecraft Proton dies upon crashing to Earth, but frees his soul to seek a replacement body. The alien takes possession of an old man who died upon seeing him and restores the the body. The alien has amnesia, so he takes the name Proton. He also discovers he has powers. While most Earthlings fear him, a woman and professor offer help. Upon arriving at their lab, two Jupiterians are waiting to retrieve the information from the spacecraft stored in Proton's brain. The professor's machine to do this is called "Brain Drain" and will likely leave Proton a mindless shell.
