From Image Comics in 2005, NYC Mech: Beta Love #1 kicks off a fresh arc set in a New York City where robots walk the streets — and apparently tower over them too. Eric Canete's cover delivers a vertiginous bird's-eye view of a dense urban grid, with a hulking, green-and-white mechanical figure looming large in the foreground, staring down at the city sprawled far below. It's a striking first impression for a series that, as Brian Azzarello's back-cover blurb puts it, deals with robots — and only gets meaner for it.
