This fourth issue of Image's NYC Mech offers one of the series' most quietly striking covers, courtesy of Bengal — a softly rendered robot figure curled in a vulnerable, almost dreamlike pose, surrounded by scattered roses in muted purples and pinks. The mechanical form reads with surprising tenderness, its rounded design and flushed coloring giving it an almost human warmth against the cool angular backdrop. It's a beautiful, mood-setting image that speaks to the emotional depth Miles Gunter, Iván Brandon, and Andy MacDonald were bringing to this 2004 series.
