Cartoonist Ivá's loose, expressive linework is on full display here, with a bleary-eyed, rumpled soldier slumped on the ground, muttering "Po fale…" in a speech bubble — the very picture of reluctant military service. Historias de la Puta Mili: To por la Patria! promises sharp, irreverent humor about the absurdities of compulsory conscription, wrapped in the cheerfully scrappy style that made El Jueves a cornerstone of Spanish satirical comics.
