Volume 9 of Wakoh Honna's Nozokiana, published by Kurokawa in 2014, frames its cover with a striking keyhole silhouette through which a young woman gazes directly at the viewer, her expression quietly intense beneath a soft winter hat and a fur-trimmed coat dusted in cool blue-white tones. The composition is elegantly voyeuristic — entirely fitting for a series built around the tension of being watched and watching — and the delicate, frosty palette gives the whole image a hushed, intimate atmosphere.
