Nozokiana #5

Volume 5 of Wakoh Honna's Nozokiana frames its cover with a striking keyhole motif, through which a young woman gazes back at the viewer with a quietly knowing expression, her long auburn hair and soft pink dress rendered against a deep, crimson-drenched background. The composition — literally presenting her as something glimpsed rather than fully seen — captures the series' charged atmosphere of voyeurism and intimacy with real elegance. Kurokawa's 2013 French-language edition makes this a beautifully packaged continuation of one of shōnen manga's more emotionally complex romantic series.
