The mysterious Prowler is the prime suspect of a murder. Spider-Man tracks down Hobie Brown, the man he knows is secretly the Prowler. Brown claims to be innocent and proves to Spider-Man that his equipment and costume have been stolen by an unknown party. Spider-Man is lured into a trap by the second Prowler and his employer, Madame Belladonna. Spider-Man is left to die in a gas chamber...
