Non-Humans #2
From Brunswick and Portacio comes this 2013 Image series that asks what happens when toys come to life — and aren't playing around. The cover says it all: a heavily armored teddy bear strides through a grimy alleyway, sporting shades and combat gear while an assortment of smaller animated figures — a tiny humanoid perched on its head, a monster clinging to a corner, and others nestled against its body — surround it like a ragtag crew. Spray-painted on the brick wall behind them reads "WE LIVE NOW LIVE WITH IT," a defiant declaration that sets the tone for a world where the line between toy and threat has permanently blurred.
