Nita Hawes' Nightmare Blog #9

The split-face composition on Szymon Kudranski's cover says everything about where this series lives — one half a determined, wide-eyed Nita rendered in deep violet shadow, the other half a swirling, skull-like supernatural presence pressing up against her. It's a striking piece of horror design that captures the tension between the human and the otherworldly at the heart of Rodney Barnes and Jason Shawn Alexander's Image series. Issue #9 is a great entry point into one of 2022's most atmospheric horror comics.
