Niourk #1
Drawn entirely by Olivier Vatine, this Dutch-language adaptation of Stefan Wul's science-fiction novel opens with a striking image: a lone, determined child stands atop a pile of industrial barrels, clutching a weapon, as enormous golden tentacles curl and reach skyward around him beneath a blazing sun. "Het zwarte kind" (The Black Child) is the first of two volumes, and Vatine's painterly cover immediately signals a world both dangerous and mythic. A compelling start to this Belgian adaptation of a French sci-fi classic, published in 2013 by Dark Dragon Books.

Verstoten door zijn stam gaat het zwarte kind de wijze ziener achterna, om er achter te komen dat zijn regelmatige uitstapjes naar "de goden" slechts een excuus waren om drank in te slaan in de postapocalyptische stad.
