Nightwing faces a brutal, up-close confrontation on this August 2001 cover — Dick Grayson in his blue-and-black costume, bloodied and snarling, locked in a desperate struggle with a yellow-and-black-masked opponent who wields a large blade between them. Cover artists Greg Land and Drew Geraci stage the clash with raw intensity, the spatters of blood and clenched fists making clear this fight has already gone somewhere ugly. Chuck Dixon's "A World of Hate," brought to the interior page by Mike Lilly and Jesse Delperdang, promises exactly the kind of no-holds-barred Nightwing story the cover delivers on sight.
