Nightwatch #9 (December 1994) puts Marvel's dark-suited hero front and center, battered and bloodied but clearly not finished — the cover declares he's fought through the Carvers and blasted through Camouflage Agents, and now he's setting his sights on Morelle. Roy Burdine and Abraham Madison's cover art frames him surging forward against a wall of flame, his torn cape trailing behind him in a way that conveys hard-won momentum rather than easy triumph. Terry Kavanagh's "All Roads Lead to Then" promises a story that's been building through punishment, and this issue looks like where it all pays off.
