Night Thrasher #9

The story is called "Temper Tantrum," and this cover by David Boller and Jeff Albrecht makes it immediately clear why — Night Thrasher is shown unraveling in spectacular fashion, his long hair wild, mouth open in a raw scream, arms outstretched and straining against restraints amid a swirling psychedelic backdrop of vivid, almost hallucinatory color. It's a striking, visceral image that leans into a more psychologically intense side of the character than readers might expect from Marvel's street-level warrior. Writer Fabian Nicieza and the 1994 creative team were clearly swinging for something emotionally charged here, and the cover alone makes a compelling case to dive in.
