Newuniversal #3
Warren Ellis and Salvador Larroca's Newuniversal continues with issue #3, "Mathematics," and the cover sets an appropriately unsettling tone — a grand, ornate building looms at a dramatic angle above crashing coastal waves, rendered entirely in eerie green tones that give the whole image a surveillance or night-vision quality. A targeting reticle floats in the upper right corner alongside a partially visible figure, suggesting someone or something is being watched — or hunted. Larroca's cover composition is striking in its quiet dread, trading superhero spectacle for architectural unease and a sense that the world has shifted in ways not yet fully understood.
