This cover by Mike Del Mundo stops you cold: a massive, grinning villain's face fills the entire image, and trapped within the braces of its enormous teeth are seven terrified young mutant faces — each one screaming or straining against the metal wires that pin them in place. It's a brilliantly unsettling image that frames the New Mutants as utterly at the mercy of something far larger and stranger than themselves.
