The squad of misfit heroes that defines New Lieutenants of Metal is back for issue four, and Ulises Farinas's cover art captures the chaos perfectly — a sprawling crew of wild characters, including a roaring werewolf-like bruiser, a wild-haired fighter, and a helmeted hero, all scrambling beneath a massive mechanical contraption rigged with bombs and a lit fuse. Joe Casey and Farinas bring their gleefully anarchic energy to this Image series, and this cover alone makes a strong case for why 2018 was a great time to be reading something genuinely different from the superhero mainstream.
