The tagline says it all — "Agog Over Agogg!" — and this February 1991 issue of New Gods delivers a cover to match, with a massive, snarling great ape in red and blue smashing through a brick wall high above a city skyline while clutching a white-masked figure in its grip and sending rubble flying in every direction. A frightened civilian scrambles for safety in the lower corner, lending the chaos a surprisingly human scale. Steve Erwin and Willie Blyberg bring real kinetic energy to the scene, and with Mark Evanier's story "Lingering Melody" waiting inside, this is a genuinely fun chapter in DC's Fourth World mythology.
