A big city housefly and cockroach visit the country and are shown hospitality by Billy and Bonny Bee and Nurse Betty. They reciprocate with an invitation for the bees to visit The Big City, which Billy accepts. From the fly and roach, Billy learns to navigate city life and the ups-and-downs of sharing a huge living space with the "big creatures" (humans). He writes to Bonny asking her to join him, as we close Chapter One.
