New Excalibur #18
In "Albion Prologue: To Rise Again This Day!", Chris Claremont and artists Scot Eaton, Staz Johnson, and their team launch a bold new chapter for Excalibur, diving into the origins of the enigmatic Albion. As he recounts his rise from a war-torn alternate Earth—where he chose the sword over the amulet offered by Roma—Albion reveals his plan to conquer Excalibur’s world and settle old scores with Roma and Merlyn, now allied with Black Air and Shadow-X. The issue’s striking cover by Salvador Larroca captures the intensity of this dark new threat.

While Excalibur tries to figure out who Albion is, the man himself is explaining his origin story to Lionheart. On an alternate earth ravaged by war, Albion was offered the choice of the amulet or the sword by Roma but, unlike the rest of the Captain Britain Corps, he chose the sword. Albion conquered his own world and was able to make it to Excalibur's world which he plans to conquer to get back at Roma and Merlyn. To this end, he allies himself with Black Air and Shadow-X.
