New Avengers #17
Civil War II reaches the New Avengers in this 2016 tie-in issue, written by Al Ewing with art by Paco Medina, inks by Juan Vlasco, and colors by Jesus Aburtov. Julian Totino Tedesco's cover is a striking collage of chaos — a blood-spattered, helmeted figure dominates the center, surrounded by a sprawling cast that includes a man with a large revolver, armored A.I.M. soldiers, a woman with glowing energy hands, a cheerful figure clutching small animals, a powerfully built fighter with fists raised, and a massive looming face — all set against a backdrop of an exploding aircraft. With the story titled "A.I.M. vs. S.H.I.E.L.D., Part VI: If You Choose to Accept It," this penultimate chapter of the arc promises the kind of high-stakes, ensemble tension that Ewing's New Avengers runs do so well.
