When her longtime suitor Harry completes medical school and proposes to her, Janet postpones giving him an answer. She doesn’t love Harry but doesn’t want to lose him “until someone else comes along.” Helen starts dating Tom, a hospital administrator, but refuses to tell Harry, even though he decides to quit his internship so they can wed sooner. Harry catches Tom with Janet and is angry; Tom breaks up with Janet over her double-dealing. Janet apologizes to Harry and urges him to resume his medical career. He does, and Tom now believes Janet has learned her lesson. They reconcile.
