Near Death #9 from Image Comics delivers the gritty, hard-boiled tension the series does so well, with a cover showing two figures locked in a brutal close-quarters struggle — one wielding a wrench, the other pressing a gun — while a third figure above fires through shattering glass in a burst of chaos. The warm, smoky color palette gives the whole scene a noir urgency that feels genuinely dangerous. Faerber, Guglielmini, and Riley continue to make this one of Image's most satisfying crime books, and this issue's cover alone makes a strong case for picking it up.
