In "Escape!" from Naza #2 (1964), Naza guides the last survivors of his tribe toward their homeland, using Roon’s knowledge to navigate the treacherous path. As they flee through the wilds, evading both savage beasts and relentless Borg pursuers, a quiet betrayal stirs—Vang secretly marks their trail, hoping to win favor with their enemies and claim Keena as his prize.

In "The Treacherous Sand," Naza and his companions brave the merciless desert, battling a monstrous bat and relying on Roon’s guidance to find life-saving water. When the rival Borg party closes in, betrayal strikes—Vang ambushes Naza and takes Keena, forcing the group into a desperate, unequal stand.

In "Battle of the Animal Men," Naza faces off against a horde of strange, beast-like warriors who scatter his allies. As he battles through chaos, he rescues Keena and carries the wounded Roon back to their people, enduring a severe infection from his own injury. Though Vang escapes their clash, he vanishes into the shadows, still scheming against Naza.
