“Pornography: Threat or Menace?”

In "Pornography: Threat or Menace?", Joe Orlando crafts a sharp, satirical tale of two women whose lives take wildly divergent turns. Mary, the picture of domestic respectability, finds her world unraveling when financial strain drives her husband to drink and leaves her homeless, while Mona, the carefree party girl, rises to fame after landing a movie contract. The story’s final panel brings their fates into unexpected collision, all rendered with Orlando’s distinctive, expressive art.

A tale of two women. The first page shows Mary living a respectable life, getting married, and having a family. Mona, on the other hand, is a party girl, with low morals. The twist comes on the second page, when Mary's husband, overwhelmed by the expense of a large family, turns to drink and Mary ends up homeless. Mona, on the other hand, signs a movie contract and becomes a famous star. The two women's paths cross in the final panel.
