The second installment of this 2018 Dutch-language biographical series brings Napoleon Bonaparte front and center in commanding fashion — robed in imperial crimson and ermine, he raises a golden laurel wreath above his head against a smoky, battle-tinged sky, while a panorama of cavalry and armies sweeps across the top of the cover. Fabrizio Fiorentino's artwork captures both the grandeur and the gravity of Napoleon's imperial ambitions with striking detail and atmosphere. With writers Simsolo and Tulard also on board, this middle chapter of the trilogy promises a richly layered portrait of one of history's most captivating figures.
