The second episode of this Franco-Belgian sci-fi series from Cinebook drops you straight into striking tension: a lone woman clings to the gnarled branches of a dead tree, surrounded by enormous ants that crowd every limb in unsettling numbers, as a sharp burst of light blazes between her and the swarming threat. Bertrand Marchal's cover work is vivid and assured, bathing the whole scene in a deep crimson sky that gives the confrontation an almost otherworldly heat. With writing from Rodolphe, Leo, and Jérôme Saincantin, Namibia continues to look like one of 2016's more intriguing European imports.
