Jan falls for Nick, then learns he’s a criminal. Present at one of his robberies and fearing she’ll be arrested as his accomplice, Jan flees and gets a series of jobs in other towns. She falls in love with Ken but her paranoia forces her to leave him. Jan finally has a nervous breakdown and is reunited with Ken, who says everything will be alright.
