Frances and Louis were high school sweethearts. After high school, they married, against Frances' mother's objections. Frances' mother thought that Louis was no good. She was right. Louis could not give her the life she wanted. Frances begin seeing Louis' rich boss, Mr. Dorsey, the banker. Soon Louis began to notice Frances’ expensive gifts. Frances' life goes from bad to worse.
