Written by Edmond Hamilton and illustrated by Curt Swan, with inks by George Klein, the story features a cover by Albert Uderzo, who also provided the cover pencils and inks.

As hope begins to fade, Supergirl uncovers a shocking truth: Superman was never infected by Virus X, and Mon-El’s desperate signal from the Phantom Zone finally pierces through, revealing the real source of his suffering.
