From the French independent publisher Vide Cocagne, Muffin #2 arrives in February 2015 with a cover that immediately commands attention — a striking watercolor portrait of a green, otherworldly creature peering out through round spectacles, its glowing golden eyes radiating an unsettling calm. Fabien Grolleau contributes to this issue, subtitled La Cabane au Bord de l'Abîme ("The Cabin at the Edge of the Abyss"), which sets a wonderfully eerie, literary tone. This French anthology continues to carve out its own curious corner of the comics world, and that haunting cover face alone makes it hard to put down.
