“Scavengers”

In "Scavengers," Ms. Marvel takes a bold step by trying to bring Spider-Man in as an unregistered hero, only to be interrupted by a citywide crisis: ordinary cars transforming into giant robots. With the help of a rogue robot with a mind of its own, Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel must stop a horde of self-replicating duplicates created by auto magnate Stuart Cavenger—each designed to handle his mundane tasks, but one with a dangerously independent streak. Written by Brian Reed and illustrated by Mark A. Robinson, with inks by Mark Irwin and colors by Antonio Fabela, this 2008 annual features a dynamic cover by Greg Horn.

Ms. Marvel attempts to bring in Spider-Man as an unregistered hero. Their battle is interrupted by local cars that are turning into giant robots. Spider-Man tracks down the source of the robots and finds more robots. Auto magnate Stuart Cavenger has created a horde of duplicates of himself in order to take over the drudge tasks in his daily life. One of these robots has a bit of a destructive streak and has taken unauthorized initiative in creating auto havoc. Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel stop the robots and save the day and the web-slinger eludes Ms. Marvel’s grasp in the aftermath.
