Ms. Marvel #27
Tied into Marvel's 2008 Secret Invasion crossover, this chapter finds Ms. Marvel at the center of the chaos — and Greg Horn's cover makes that urgency unmistakable. Carol Danvers crouches forward in a battle-ravaged black-and-gold costume, her suit torn and smoldering, while a ribbon of crimson energy swirls behind her in striking contrast to the stark white background. Brian Reed's story, brought to life by André Coelho and colorist Chris Sotomayor, promises the kind of high-stakes tension that cover conveys so effectively.
