Joe Sacco's unflinching journalism-in-comics form comes to Dutch-language readers in this XTRA Graphic Novel edition, subtitled De Oorlog in Oost-Bosnie. The cover, pencilled and inked by Sacco himself, is immediately arresting: a crowd of frightened civilians — men, women, and children — flees in the foreground while the massive gun barrels and hulking form of a tank loom over them from above, the whole image rendered in Sacco's characteristically detailed black-and-white linework against a muted olive background.
