Mortal Terror #1

Dark Horse launches this 2023 horror series from writers Christopher Golden and Tim Lebbon with a cover by Peter Bergting that immediately sets an unsettling tone — a hooded, goggled figure with a face-wrapped scarf stares out from a swirling backdrop of fire and smoke, their goggle lenses reflecting twin points of orange flame. There's something deeply compelling about a protagonist (or antagonist?) whose identity is so thoroughly obscured yet so commanding a presence, and Bergting's moody linework makes every shadow feel alive with dread.
