Morbius: The Living Vampire #1

Marvel's 1992 launch of Morbius: The Living Vampire hits hard right out of the gate as Part 3 of the "Rise of the Midnight Sons" crossover event. Ron Wagner and Mike Witherby's cover depicts Morbius himself lunging forward with fangs bared and clawed hands outstretched, his vivid magenta cape tearing dramatically behind him as he leaps above what appears to be a large creature lurking below — all set against a darkened urban backdrop that perfectly captures the horror tone Len Kaminski brings to the series. It's a visceral, energetic image that makes a strong case for why the Living Vampire earned his own solo title.
