Moon Knight #12
Greg Smallwood and Jordie Bellaire's work carries through to the interiors, but it's Declan Shalvey's cover for this 2015 Marvel issue that stops you cold — a stark white silhouette of Moon Knight looms against a blue-tinted city roofscape, his caped form dissolving into churning white brushstrokes below the title. The design is boldly minimal, letting the crescent-moon logo and pure negative space do the heavy lifting in a way that feels genuinely arresting. Brian Wood's "Diaspora" chapter rounds out this creative team's run with the same stripped-down intensity the series has carried throughout.
